Exfoliation is  the removal of the oldest dead skin cells that cling to the skin's outermost surface. Exfoliation is an important part of facial treatments. It is essential for skin health, and most skin types can benefit from exfoliation.  If you have dry skin, oily skin, flaky skin (not caused by a skin disease,,sun-damage or skin disorder), or a rough surface texture, those problems are best handled by products that exfoliate and help dead skin cells slough off from the surface of the skin.

As we age the process of cell turnover slows down. Cells start to pile up unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a dry, rough, dull appearance. What Glycolic, Lactic, and Salicylic Acids can do is "unglue" the outer layer of dead skin cells helping increase cell turnover, and allowing healthier cells to come to the surface. Removing this dead layer can improve skin texture and color, unclog pores, and allow moisturizers to be better absorbed by the skin.

A chemical peel is an acid solution that applied to the skin. It dissolves outermost layer of skin cells, which then peels off over the following days to reveal the fresher, younger layer below. Peel are very effective in treating a large range of skin concerns such as aging, sun damage, acne, mild scarring, improving skin brightness, and evening skin tone.

Peel can be light, moderate or deep. Light peels require no down time from work and your normal activities. Moderates peels may require a day or two, and deep peels can require a week or more of down time to allow the skim to fully heal.

ESTHETICIANS WHO ARE NOT WORKING IN A MEDICAL SETTING PERFORM LIGHT TO MODERATE PEELS ONLY. Deep peels can ONLY be performed by a physician, doctor or under a physician's or doctor's supervision, for your safety.

Salicylic Acid Peel

Salicylic acid is a mild acid that works as a keratolytic agent

  • Encourages the sloughing of dead skin cells.
  • Safe, effective treatment for mild acne, oily skin, textural changes and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in patients of most skin types.

Like many other topical acne treatments, salicylic acid must be used continuously, even after acne lesions have healed. Its effects stop when you stop using it, so your skin will return to its uneven shedding; pores become clogged, and acne returns.
